Tom is the General Counsel – Global Digital and IT for Natura &Co (a family of brands including Natura, Aesop, The Body Shop, and Avon).
He is a senior in-house lawyer. He wears many hats and during his time outside private practice, he has developed expertise ranging from direct selling to Legal Ops. For the last four years, he has focused his work in the Digital and IT space. As part of a business undergoing extensive digital transformation, he has overseen multiple large IT outsourcing deals, and his daily workload includes negotiating cloud agreements, platform deals, and contracts for various other IT services.
He has significant experience in both contentious and non-contentious areas (starting his legal career as a litigator), and he has worked in a range of industries – including Tech and Innovation, Retail / FMCG, Direct Selling, Engineering, and Oil and Gas. He has a particular interest in modernising legal practice and removing unnecessary complexities. He is a member of Society for Computers and Law and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
