Rick Gal is a Legal Director in Addleshaw Goddard's Commercial Disputes team, based in London.

Rick has broad experience of managing complex, high-value, cross-border disputes.  He has a particular interest and expertise in disputes with an international nature and in the energy, natural resources, TMT and hospitality sectors.

Rick is a specialist in international commercial arbitration, investment treaty arbitration and related court proceedings.  He has represented clients located in a broad range of jurisdictions and under the leading institutional rules, including the LCIA, ICC, SCIA, CIArb, ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules.

Rick also has experience of English and foreign court proceedings.  He obtained his Higher Rights of Audience in 2015 and is able to conduct his own advocacy.  Rick regularly advises corporates, banks and states during the execution of transactions and in anticipation of dispute proceedings.

Rick has spoken and published extensively on topics relating to international arbitration and was the founder and editor-in-chief of the international arbitration blog at his previous firm.

Rick joined the Addleshaw Goddard team in August 2023, after 12 years with an International Arbitration Group.  Rick studied law at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University.
