Aidan was educated at Oxford University (Lincoln College) and Cornell University in New York State (where he was a Telluride and Fulbright Scholar).  He joined chambers in 1995, and took silk in January 2016.

His practice includes public and private law children's cases (often with an international element), vulnerable adults, conflicts of jurisdiction on divorce, matrimonial finance and cohabitation disputes, and civil litigation arising out of family law (human rights, local authority duties, and negligence).  Aidan combines his expert technical legal knowledge with a practical and empathetic approach to family law practice.

Aidan has previously been both a judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal and visiteur d'etudes and temporary lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights.
