Val has over 25 yrs experience Executive and Non Executive experience in the UK residential development sector, working in both the public and private sectors. Over this period Val’s career has been marked by embracing innovation in the delivery of new homes, and identifying new ways in which assets can be more effectively used to generate new value. This involved not least breaking the ice for modern methods of construction, with key project firsts- the largest residential steelframe project in the UK, the largest affordable modular project, along with a host of awards for his employers for innovation, project design, and delivery of customer value.

In his former role, as MD of Apex Airspace, he was a key influence on the development and evolution of the concept of airspace development in the UK, and its acceptance as a potential key new land supply for both affordable housing and market sale. This has involved winning funding and political support from government at both a national and regional level, and influencing new planning freedoms to help embed and scale the airspace market.

In February of this year he joined Populo Living, assisting their regeneration and new homes programme whilst also looking at how they could generate new value from existing assets. He is also a Non Executive Director on the Board of Housing Solutions, a housing association based in Maidenhead, with a £45m turnover.
