With over 20 years of expertise, Peter has built a market-leading practice in trade mark, copyright, and designs, and has worked on some of the highest profile disputes in this field as well as on non-contentious work, including global rebranding and worldwide IP protection strategies.

Peter’s litigation work includes represented Sany Heavy Industry Co. in its defence to a High Court trade mark infringement action brought by Daimler AG in respect of its famous three pointed star mark, defending data company, Sportradar, from copyright and database right infringement claims brought by the English and Scottish Football Leagues, which involved questions of jurisdiction and a reference to the Court of Justice of the European Union.  Most recently he represented Assos of Switzerland before the Court of Appeal and acted for Merck KGaA in its trade mark and breach of contract claim against Merck, Sharp & Dohme.

His recent non-contentious work includes managing Monster Energy’s trade mark work across Europe and Asia and the re-branding of Everything Everywhere to EE, he also advises Associated Newspapers on their trade mark strategy relating to the well-known METRO trade mark.

He is ranked as top tier practitioner in both the Chambers and Legal 500 guides and has been placed in the prestigious thought leader category in the recent Who's Who Legal report on international trade mark practitioners.

Peter has sat on the UK Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys Designs and Copyright committee since 1996 and is chair of the International Trade Mark Association's European Amicus Brief sub-committee.
