As the Head of Technology Assisted Review at Hogan Lovells US LLP, Mollie Nichols brings more than 30 years of experience as a litigator, law professor, and in law firm management on issues involving information governance, data protection, and electronic discovery in both civil and criminal litigation. Mollie is responsible for developing the firm's global approach to the identification, preservation, collection, review, and production of client data in matters using advanced technologies. She oversees both the technical staff and Discovery Attorneys who work on matters involving eDiscovery and is responsible for the global business model for providing technology assisted review services. Mollie has advised law firms and multinational corporations on legal strategies regarding the preservation, collection, and production of electronic information during litigation and the review and production of documents in the EU for cartel and FCPA investigations.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Mollie was a partner in the boutique law firm, Redgrave LLP and was formerly the Director of eDiscovery and Litigation Services for an Am Law 50 firm. She further provided advice and counsel on compliance issues arising in an eDiscovery context from U.S. data privacy regulations and EU Directives. Mollie also was chair of the firm’s Risk Management Task Force.
Mollie has tried more than 25 cases as lead counsel. She was formerly an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Texas; a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas; and worked in private practice as a litigator. Mollie also taught Digital Discovery & Evidence and a Legal Technology seminar at William & Mary Law School.
Mollie received a J.D. and LL.M. in International Law from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Texas. Mollie is admitted to practice in Texas and the District of Columbia.
