Emma is a Senior Associate in the Human Resources Practice Group at Eversheds Sutherland in Leeds, she is experienced in in Employment law and Business Immigration. She acts for a range of clients in various sectors, but has particular experience within the transport sector.

Emma qualified in 2013 and has developed a particular experience in high court litigation and interim injunctions - including in respect of restrictive covenant enforcement, serious breaches of confidence and in the context of industrial disputes regarding the lawfulness of strike action (GTR v ASLEF; Thomas Cook v BALPA).

Her litigation experience also extends to the Employment Tribunal where she has dealt with claims for a range of clients, in respect of a variety of issues such as unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, whistleblowing and discrimination. Emma has a keen understanding of clients' businesses and is acutely aware of the commercial concerns for clients in respect of litigation. Emma also handles non-contentious employment issues, including drafting contracts of employment and service agreements, reviewing company policies, advising on potential employee liabilities associated with a TUPE transfer and dealing with day to day HR queries. She also assists businesses in respect of a variety of industrial relations matters, including assisting businesses to navigate through difficult change projects.

Her immigration practice centres around Tier 2 of the points based system. She assists clients in securing sponsor licences, advising on Tier 2 visas, right to work requirements, prevention of illegal working, business visitors and deals with issues arising from any changes to clients' businesses.

Emma also delivers training to clients on various subjects, including, industrial relations, collective redundancies and recent Employment and Immigration updates.
