Tristan specialises in litigation of intellectual property rights, particularly focussing on multi-jurisdictional disputes in the telecommunications, engineering & electronics sectors, and enforcement of trade mark and passing off rights in the UK High Court and specialist tribunals. Tristan's broader practice includes advising clients on international IP strategy, and creation of IP rights.

Particular cases of note include Unwired Planet v Samsung, Google & Huawei (enforcement of LTE, WCDMA & GSM standards-essential patents), Good Technology v Airwatch, MobileIron (multi-jurisdictional enforcement of computer-implemented inventions) and Yellow Van London Ltd v Rayner (contempt of court in trade mark proceedings).

Alongside his law degree, Tristan's background is in Biomedical Engineering, a multi-disciplinary medical technology degree covering electronics, biomechanics, computing and pharmaceutical delivery systems, which he obtained at Imperial College London.

Outside his main practice, Tristan is especially interested in IP strategy and education for growth and start-up business, and he regularly provides pro-bono advice as a mentor at a leading start-up incubator. Tristan also contributes frequently to specialist legal journals and industry publications, writing about cutting-edge legal issues and developments.
