Pat heads the firm's immigration team. She advises multinational corporate clients and the board of various universities and large private sector clients on risk management, sponsor compliance matters and the immigration aspects of business restructuring. Pat often liaises with senior Home Office officials on behalf of clients. She also has experience of challenging Home Office decisions to suspend/revoke sponsor licences.

Her specialist areas of work also include immigration services for private individuals, many of whom are applying for Tier 1 investor and entrepreneur visas, and she has a wealth of experience in dealing with human rights cases, appeals, judicial reviews and Court of Appeal matters. Her clients are spread across the firm’s education, charities, retail, sports and entertainment and technology sectors. Her clients also include Indian companies and individual Indian nationals.

Pat joined Penningtons in 2009 and became a partner in 2012. She has over 16 years of experience practising immigration and nationality law. She is recommended by The Legal 500 where she is praised for being ‘a growing force in immigration law’ and Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession where she is described as ‘savvy’ and ‘technically outstanding’ and noted for her ‘handling of immigration matters for higher education institutions’. Pat is also co-convenor of the Family and General sub-committee of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association.
