Athena Professional
I am an L&D professional and a Fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute. A former barrister, I specialise in L&D strategy, all aspects of blended learning and executive coaching. I love to explore new ideas and work with others on topics including self-awareness, awareness of impact on others, communication, team-building, coaching and mentoring.
I am co-founder and owner of Athena Professional. We work with established professionals;
- helping their organisations to use learning strategically
- designing and delivering learning activities which change behaviour
- supporting and challenging individuals to learn, think clearly and contribute effectively and perform to the best of their ability at work
As a trained and experienced advocate, I make a credible speaker & facilitator; I am able to bring the willing and the reluctant to the table. I am interested in making a contribution to strategic goals and I can help senior teams work out what they might be, if necessary.
Implementing strategy is about moving people from intellectual acceptance into action, which is much harder than it sounds! We use face-to-face experiential learning, online learning, and coaching, either as stand-alone activities, or in blended learning programmes to help people change their behaviour at work.
We create a "safe" place for people to share thoughts, take risks and learn and often find that time spent together in this environment has huge added value for senior teams; conversations start; people listened to each other.
Used with sensitivity and integrity developmental tools, such as psychometrics and 360 appraisal, can have the potential to provide powerful information to inform development, e.g., in group or individual coaching.
As a coach (ILM Level 7 and member of the EMCC) I take a non-directive approach, offering support and challenge to help people move their thinking forward, so that they can reflect, and determine their own goals and actions.
