Liam Ryan is ranked by the Legal 500 (Tier 5) as a leading junior in Personal Injury at the London Bar. He is described as “An impressive advocate, who fights hard for his clients” (legal 500 2017) and as “a very astute barrister who knows his subject matter well” (legal 500 2016). He is the author of the recently published “A practical guide to psychiatric injury in personal injury claims”.

Liam has a civil practice split between medium to high value personal injury actions, clinical negligence and commercial litigation. He has a noted specialism in stress at work and psychiatric injury claims, a growing area in which his knowledge and enthusiasm ensure he strives and achieves for the best possible result for his clients. He has a growing clinical negligence practise and is increasingly sought out in claims with a psychiatric component. His commercial practise increasingly deals with employment relationships, data protection and costs issues. He is commercial astute and realistic in his advice, but not afraid of challenging work and conflict.

He acts for both Claimants and Defendants and is regularly instructed to advise, draft documents and to appear in both the County and High Court.
