Alternative Business Structures - a year on
The introduction of Alternative Business Structures (ABS), as outlined by the Legal Services Act 2010, paved the way for legal service providers to break away from the historical constraints traditionally placed on running a legal practice. The provisions of ABS allowed for the first time, the operation of a range of business models, including allowing non-solicitor partners and the ability to work in partnership with other professionals in multi-disciplinary practices (MDPs).
