Mediation update
Originally broadcast on Friday, February 10, 2012 - 12:30
It is reported that The Ministry of Justice will add £10m to the UK's publicly funded mediation budget in 2012. Following the Jackson review with its spotlight on litigation costs, mediation is increasingly seen as a simpler, faster and more cost effective way to resolve disputes. Section III of CPR 78 which came into effect on 6th April 2011 made the content of a written mediation agreement, made following a cross-border dispute, enforceable. These developments make it essential that you are fully up to date on this increasingly important area of law.
This webinar covers:
• The MoJ’s proposals to promote mediation
• The Mediation Directive – CPR 78, Section III
• The attitude of the Judiciary to ‘compulsory’ mediation
